E-Safety

At Whiteknights we want pupils to leave us with a good understanding of the world, a world which is at our fingertips thanks to the internet. As part of our teaching of ICT, we use the internet and teach children how to use it safely.

This term our IT guru, Mr Anwar, produced a presentation on Online Safety for our Year 3,4 and 5 Splat for parents. This was extremely well received so we would like to make it available to all families in school as the information is relevant for all age groups. Please click here to access the presentation.

Please click here to download our Online Safety Policy.

We are aware that some of our children are accessing Facebook. Please find below a parents' guide to Facebook and advice on setting up privacy controls.

We also encourage you to have a look at www.internetmatters.org which is a site for adults and children giving advice and information on how to stay safe on the internet and social media.

We would encourage you all to have a look at the BBC Newsround site which has lots of interesting videos, interviews and internet safety hints and tips. Go to www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/13908828

The following are two child-friendly websites which also provide great e-safety information for your children:

Think U Know (for children from 5-7)

Think U Know (for children from 8-10)
