In November 2019 we received a letter from Nick Gibb, Minister of State for School Standards, congratulating Whiteknights on being in the top 3% of schools in the country in our teaching of phonics. You can read and download the letter below.
Mr Gibb has sent another letter dated 20th January 2020 again congratulating us - this time on our high level of progress in KS2, keeping us in the top 3% of primary schools in the country. Read or download the letter below.
On 2nd October 2018 the government announced that 32 schools throughout the country had been selected as 'hub' schools because of the excellence of their phonics teaching. We are pleased to announce that Whiteknights has been designated one of these schools. For more information download the document below.
On 24th October 2016 we were delighted to receive a letter from the Department of Education (click here to read) congratulating us on our high standard of achievement in the 2016 phonics screening check. With 97% of our pupils reaching or exceeding the pass mark, we are in the top 8% of all primary schools in the country. Mr Walker would like to thank all our staff and pupils for their hard work in achieving this result.
