Geography

During the Geography Quest pupils develop their fieldwork and enquiry skills through practical experiences.

They undertake a local study which helps develop their sense of identity and their self-esteem.
Children learn to locate  areas in their surroundings and navigate to other places using maps and online resources. They are also given the opportunity to debate issues, learn to understand uncertainties and suggest solutions to problems.

  • ICT:  Digital resources help children tap into a whole new world to allow further  investigation which they can also record electronically.
  • Cycles, patterns and processes:  Geography allows enquiry into concepts such as cycles, patterns and processes.
  • Global citizenship:  Geography helps us recognise that we have a responsibility to the planet and to each other.
