Our Local Advisory Board

Whiteknights Primary School is part of Bellevue Place Education Trust which is overseen by a Board of Trustees, known as the BPET Board. The trustees are highly experienced professionals, including education professionals, working alongside trustees appointed following a skills-based assessment. Each school that is part of the Trust has a Local Advisory Board which is comprised of parents, members of the community and the Headteacher.

The Local Advisory Board (LAB) meets four times a year and has a strong focus on three strategic functions:

  • Setting the vision, ethos and strategic direction for the school, within the overall vision of the Trust.
  • Holding the Headteacher and senior leadership team to account for the educational performance of the school, its pupils and the performance management of staff; and
  • Ensuring investment in educational improvement is value for money and having an impact.

The Headteacher has day-to-day responsibility for the efficient management of the school and members of the LAB and staff work together. It is our aim for all children to leave Whiteknights Primary School as independent learners with self-belief, abiding respect for others and the tenacity to pursue their ambitions. We strive to instill a lifelong love for learning and a strong grounding for future success. Parents have an opportunity to join the LAB as parent advisers when vacancies arise.

Visit the BPET website for information on BPET’s governance structure and how this oversees the strategic governance of Whiteknights Primary School.

Meet the Local Advisory Board

I joined the governing body of Whiteknights in March 2020 (before the school joined Bellevue Place Education Trust) wanting to use any relevant skills and experience to support the school.  My son is a pupil here, and is noticeably benefiting from the quality of education delivered by the superb team that has made the school what it is today.  The opportunity to volunteer as a school governor is a great way for me to give something back, to support the good work that the staff and governors are already doing.  It's a privilege to play a part in "growing greatness" in the children that attend the school and to serve the local community.

My background has been in various sectors of IT and communications with a focus on technical operations, service delivery and management.  My work responsibilities also include maintaining standards, ensuring technical, procedural and policy compliance with GDPR, ISO27001 along with a number of other industry standards and accreditations.  There's a proverb that states that "iron sharpens iron", and it's impressive to see the ambition of striving towards excellence already in the school - I'm certainly learning a lot in this role and hoping that I can also contribute much towards achieving the best outcomes for our children.

I joined the LAB in June 2023 and am looking forward to supporting Whiteknights in continuing to provide excellent learning opportunities to enable all pupils to establish a lifelong love of learning and achieve their very best in all areas of academic, personal, and social development.

I have a long association with the school having been a member of staff for 13 years before retiring as Assistant Head in July 2018. I will bring not only my professional experience to my role on the LAB, but also my life experiences as a mother of two now grown-up children and grandmother to three under-fives.

I was appointed by the full governing body in April 2018, and am currently the Access & Inclusion advisor of the LAB. After 30 years of working in the information and library sector I am now working part-time in a totally different field.  This leaves me time to devote to my governing responsibilities and I look forward to working in partnership with the other LAB members to ensure that Whiteknights provides the best possible education for all the children.

My name is Rhoda Agbamuche a mother to three children, 2 have attended Whiteknights and currently in Secondary School. The youngest one is in Year 5.

I have lots of retail managerial experience, clinical mental health experience and IT. As a Parent School LAB member in the last 3 years I have enjoyed amazing school progress and development.

I come from a well-educated family in Africa, and seeing children progress towards achieving what they wish to do is my desire. As an LAB member I would like to invest my time in making sure learning and the development of children are working priorities. Seeing children from different backgrounds achieving excellent results as a team is my passion.

I was appointed as a community LAB member by the Local Advisory Board (LAB) in June 2023.

I am a Criminal Law Solicitor of over 20 years. I have worked in the public sector as a Senior / Specialist Crown Prosecutor for most of my legal career. I hold specialisms in prosecuting Rape and Serious Sexual offences (RASSO), Youth Justice and Extradition. I currently hold a senior leadership position with the Ministry of Defence leading in RASSO policy, and advising and supporting a team of prosecutors responsible for prosecuting criminal cases involving the military (Army, Royal Navy and the RAF).

I currently have two children at the Whiteknights Primary School in Years 2 and 5 who are just going from strength to strength. Their time at Whiteknights is already proving to be having a positive impact on them both academically and socially which I know will put them in good stead for the future.

As a new LAB member, I look forward to adding value to all the great work that is already being done at the school, to create an inclusive and supportive environment where our children can continue to learn, grow and achieve great things.

I have over 23 years of experience in the education sector, with 18 years as a senior leader in primary education and over 7 years as a Headteacher. In 2022, I was appointed as a National Leader of Education by the DfE. Recently, I completed a master’s degree in educational leadership and have more than 18 years’ experience as a school governor.

I joined the LAB at Whiteknights in September 2023 and am looking forward to supporting the school as it continues to provide a rich learning experience for all. My particular interests include early reading, behaviour for learning strategies, and developing effective whole-school cultures.

I hope to support Whiteknights as it continues to grow from strength to strength.
