Circuits, Switches and Sparks of Learning!

7th November 2025
As part of their Science topic on Electricity, Year 6 were visited by Hyett Education Ltd, at the end of last half term, for an exciting hands-on workshop. The session was both informative and interactive, helping pupils to deepen their understanding of how circuits work through practical
exploration and a series of engaging challenges.
Using clip-system components such as bulbs, switches, buzzers, and even fans, pupils worked in pairs to build and test their own electrical circuits — making predictions, troubleshooting connections, and observing outcomes in real time. They also recorded their investigations on tablets, capturing photos, audio, and video of their workings, predictions, and findings. It was a fantastic opportunity to consolidate their learning and see science in a fun, creative, and practical way.
