Reception Amazing Animals and their Habitats

Over the past three weeks, Reception have enjoyed learning all about animals and their habitats. We began by learning about animals that live in zoos and the purpose of zoos. The children even created their own zoo through the EYFS indoor area. Then, the children loved piecing together and exploring the world map. Their learning continued by finding out which animals live in the African savanna, in Antarctica and in Asia before placing these animals on the world map; demonstrating their understanding of the natural habitats of different animals. The children also enjoyed building animal enclosures using construction resources, completing animal puzzles and making their own tiger stripes.
