Reception is Buzzing with Excitement at the Launch of Bee-Friendly Garden Project
25th June 2025
Reception pupils in Pearl and Crystal Class have been busy getting their hands dirty – and for a very good cause! As part of their upcoming topic on bees, the children have begun planting a beautiful bee-friendly garden along the outdoor play area's fence line, known as our 'Curiosity Corner.'
They’ve been bringing in flowers from home and working together to create a welcoming space for our local pollinators. The garden is already blooming with colour, and the children are loving the buzz around the flowers.
And this is just the beginning – this exciting project will grow year on year, with each new Reception class adding their own plants to the garden until the entire fence line is full of blooms. We think it’s a wonderful way to teach our young learners about sustainability, teamwork, and caring for the natural world.
Not only does the bee garden support our school’s commitment to sustainability, it also plays an important role in helping local bees find the pollen they need to make their honey. A small garden with a big impact!
